GORE WARS AUDITION COMPETITION — OFFICIAL RULES (Version 1.0-2026-07-04)
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. THIS IS A CONTEST OF SKILL. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1. Sponsor. The Gore Wars Audition Competition (the "Contest") is sponsored by Screamify ("Sponsor"), Nashville, Tennessee. Contact: info@gorewars.com.
2. Entry Period. The Contest opens July 4, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Central Time (the "Entry Period"). Sponsor may extend the Entry Period with notice posted on gorewars.com.
3. Eligibility. Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of Sponsor and its affiliates are not eligible. Where a tape is submitted by a team, the submitting entrant must be authorized to act for the team and every team member must meet these eligibility requirements.
4. How to Enter. Submit an audition tape at gorewars.com during the Entry Period. The tape must be 90 seconds in total: a 30-second introduction of the entrant/team followed by a 60-second original horror scene. The scene must use practical effects only — no generative AI and no CGI — and the tape must contain no copyrighted music or other material the entrant does not have the right to grant. Entry requires acceptance of the Materials Release. Limit three (3) entries per person or team; each entry must be a distinct original scene. No entry fee, purchase, or payment of any kind is required or accepted.
5. Judging (Contest of Skill). Winners are determined by judging, not chance. A panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor will score eligible entries on: Practical Effects Craft (40%), Impact/Scare Effectiveness (25%), Originality (20%), and Filmmaking Execution (15%). In the event of a tie, the tied entries will be re-scored by the panel on Practical Effects Craft alone. Judges' decisions are final and binding.
6. Prize. One (1) Grand Prize: $10,000 USD, awarded to the submitting entrant of the winning tape (approximate retail value: $10,000). Team prize division is the sole responsibility of the winning team. The winner is responsible for all applicable taxes and must complete a W-9 before payment; the prize will be reported on IRS Form 1099 as required by law. The winner will be announced no later than December 15, 2026 and notified using the contact information provided at entry. If a potential winner cannot be reached within 10 days, is ineligible, or fails to return required documents within 14 days of notice, the prize may be awarded to the next highest-scoring entry.
7. Series Option — No Obligation. The Contest is an audition competition. Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, develop a competition series or other programming featuring entrants, but SPONSOR IS UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO PRODUCE ANY SERIES OR PROGRAM, and the Grand Prize is not contingent on any series being produced. Selection as the winner does not guarantee casting in any program.
8. Reservation of Rights. If the Contest receives fewer than twenty-five (25) eligible entries, Sponsor may, at its discretion, extend the Entry Period or judge and award the prize among the eligible entries received. Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failure, or any cause beyond Sponsor's control impairs its integrity, in which case, if entries have been received, Sponsor will judge and award the Grand Prize among eligible entries received prior to the cancellation. Sponsor may disqualify any entry that violates these rules, is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or depicts actual (non-simulated) harm to any person or animal.
9. Entry Content. Entries are not publicly displayed on gorewars.com. Entries will be reviewed by Sponsor and its producers, and use of entry footage is governed by the Materials Release accepted at submission.
10. General. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor and the judges. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, corrupted, or misdirected entries or for technical failures of any kind. This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram, TikTok, Meta, X, YouTube, or Reddit. These rules are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Personal information collected at entry is used solely to administer the Contest and as described in the Materials Release.
